What the treatment addresses
Treatment of open and closed comedones. Cleansing complements skincare but does not replace treatment for inflammatory acne.
Blackheads
Removing the contents of open comedones helps clear blocked pores.
Closed comedones
Suitable non-inflamed comedones are extracted after a skin assessment.
Bumps caused by comedones
Clearing blocked pores may reduce the associated bumps.
How the treatment works
Skin assessment
The practitioner assesses the degree of skin congestion.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and prepared for comedone extraction.
Comedone extraction
Selected comedones are treated using aseptic technique; some discomfort is possible.
Finishing care
The practitioner selects skincare and explains how to reduce the likelihood of pores becoming blocked again.
