Electrocoagulation (papilloma removal)

Targeted removal of suitable benign skin growths after a doctor’s examination. The method helps eliminate raised lesions that catch on clothing or interfere with skincare.

We begin by assessing your skin

What the treatment addresses

The treatment allows selected growths to be removed after their benign nature is confirmed. Electrocoagulation is suitable only in certain cases.

  • Raised skin growths

Suitable lesions can be removed so they interfere less with everyday skincare.

  • Repeated trauma

Removing a growth prevents it from catching on clothing, jewellery or a razor.

  • Cosmetic concerns

Removing a selected lesion may improve the area’s appearance, although a mark or scar may remain.

How the treatment works

  1. Diagnosis

A doctor must first examine the growth and decide whether dermoscopy or a biopsy is needed.

  2. Preparation

    Antiseptic preparation and local anaesthesia.

  3. Removal

    The growth is treated precisely.

  4. Wound care

Wound care, sun protection and signs of complications are explained.

Individually selected care

Suitable skin types

The diagnosis of the growth, not skin type, is decisive; additional risks are discussed if there is a tendency to scar.

    Before your treatment

    Contraindications

    • An unclear diagnosis or suspected malignancy: diagnosis is required first.
    • Infection in the treatment area.
    • Bleeding disorders and anticoagulant use require a doctor’s decision.
    • A pacemaker or another electronic implant.
    • Allergy to the anaesthetic used requires a change to the anaesthesia plan.

Scarring and pigmentation changes may occur after treatment.
